Mario Suarez has well and truly landed on his feet. Finally.
After an unsuccessful transfer from Atletico Madrid to Fiorentina, Suarez then followed that up with another unsuccessful transfer, this time to the Premier League and Watford.
Arriving in the January transfer window, Suarez’s escape was pretty rapid, and the Spaniard was loaned to Valencia over the summer. He’d spent roughly the same time at Fiorentina, and it became clear that Suarez really needed to return to Spain.
The 29 year old helped Valencia to victory at the weekend with a goal, and looks much more at home… probably because he is.
Spanish newspaper AS point out in their Tuesday edition that Suarez has no intention of this being another short stop, and wants to ‘take root’ in Valencia. That would involved the Spanish club pleasing Watford financially.
AS say the ‘details of the agreement’ are already agreed between Watford and Valencia, with the latter having to inform the former in May if they want a permanent deal.
The clause, which is not mandatory, would see Valencia paying €6m, which is about £5.4m.
