In the last month or so, Manchester United have improved their defensive record and have conceded only three goals in the last 10 matches in all competitions.
Despite their recent impressive defensive record, the Red Devils continue to be linked with centre-backs.
Various names have been mentioned in the past few weeks and one name that’s repeatedly discussed is Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković, whose contract expires in 2022.
The defender isn’t planning to sign an extension and it was further backed up by Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday. The same report also stated United have a ‘clear advantage’ to sign the 23-year-old, and that the player is packing his bags.
Calciomercato have a short report on the Old Trafford club’s interest in the Serbia international.
It’s claimed the Serie A centre-back is a ‘concrete objective’ for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in the next window and they have initiated contacts with his agent, Fali Ramadani.
According to the report, Fiorentina are ready to allow the player leave as they ‘plan to make’ €35m from his sale in the summer.
With Milenković deciding not to sign an extension, La Viola will be forced to sell him at the end of this season.
Milenković has started in 25 league matches this season, managing three goals and an assist in the process.
