Earlier this week, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag publicly stated he wants a new midfielder and an attacker this summer.
The Dutchman made these claims after making it clear Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at Old Trafford next season.
On Tuesday, we covered claims made by Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg that Saša Kalajdžić is a candidate for United. He also stated the VfB Stuttgart star sees the Red Devils as a ‘very interesting’ option.
The Austria international’s contract expires in 2023 and he’s admitted that signing a new deal with the Bundesliga side is “definitely an option”. His comments are relayed by Sky in Germany.
Sky points out the 25-year-old, who was previously linked to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, is of interest to Manchester United. They also add Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat is willing to let the striker leave for an offer of around €25m this summer.
On the reports linking him to United [and other clubs] and his own future, Kalajdžić said: “My advisor knows the status. I’m here quite normally and my focus is on VfB. It’s not an issue that my mind wanders. I just think from training session to training session, I’ll push everyone and I want to have fun with my friends.
“In the last few years, every club has been associated with me. It doesn’t leave me cold now, but it doesn’t bother me as much as it used to. [In the end, it’s about] finding the best possible solution for all parties.”
