Arsenal, along with Chelsea, are a ‘priority’ option for Philippe Coutinho, as the Barcelona owned player looks towards another summer transfer.

Barcelona signed the Brazilian from Liverpool in 2018, but despite investing a huge amount in the deal, it didn’t feel like they had concrete plans for him at any stage. It wasn’t clear how Coutinho would fit into the team and what he’d be expected to provide.

That led to failure, which then saw him sent out on loan to Bayern Munich. It’s thought next to certain that he won’t be continuing with the German club, and Sport report Coutinho has already told Barcelona he’s open to another transfer this summer, even if it’s a loan again.

Returning to the Premier League is desired, with Arsenal one of his top two options. Manchester City aren’t thought to be keen, Coutinho doesn’t fancy signing for Manchester United, and he’s said to be dead set against Tottenham after they messed him around last summer.

Barcelona are going to have to be flexible which would mean there’s a good loan deal to be done, although it’s worth noting Sport state Coutinho doesn’t want to reduce his wages.
