Turkish newspaper Fotomac claim Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi has told the club’s board that he wants to continue his career in England, with Tottenham Hotspur said to be still interested in signing him.
In recent months Spurs have been linked with the player after reports earlier in this season they were sending scouts to monitor him.
It’s reported there’s also interest from Italy in the 26 year old, but during his meeting with Fenerbahce president Ali Koc, the Kosovo international reportedly said he’d rather get a transfer to the Premier League.
Fotomac report Tottenham are still keeping tabs on Muriqi and the North London side are looking to sign him to provide back-up for Harry Kane.
Fenerbahce could be forced to sell their star striker because of their poor financial situation, and Fotomac report the interested clubs could take advantage of that.
Muriqi has made 28 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions this season, scoring 15 goals. His contract with Fener will expire at the end of June 2023.
