Barcelona’s efforts to sign Jules Koundé from Sevilla are unlikely to stop the player from ending up at Chelsea this summer.

That’s according to But! Football Club, who say the defender already has a contractual agreement in place with Chelsea.

According to their information, Koundé is ‘inexorably approaching’ Stamford Bridge this summer despite a deal not yet being struck.

That’s something Chelsea are working on with Sevilla, who continue to demand a minimum of €65m as the player has an €80m release clause in his contract.

The various parties are currently working to find a ‘global common ground’ on that front, hence why there has not been an announcement despite the numerous reports of the Blues’ interest.

They also have Josko Gvardiol and Presnel Kimpembe on their list of options, but it is Koundé who is at the top of the list at the moment.

He could be part of a double French arrival at the club this summer, with Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele also a potential addition.

Even Koundé’s hamstring injury, which he underwent surgery on this week, has not changed Chelsea’s plans, and their leaders ‘remain there’ trying to get a deal over the line.
