West Ham United’s Jean-Clair Todibo has missed the past three Premier League games due to injury.
The Frenchman hasn’t quite managed to establish himself as a regular in the club’s backline and a premature exit from the London Stadium could be on the cards.
Corriere dello Sport have today reported on Juventus’ move for the centre-back, who is said to be ‘increasingly eager’ on wearing the Bianconeri colours for the second half of the season.
According to the report, the 25-year-old has had issues with adapting to life in England and has made that very clear to Juve manager Thiago Motta, who also wanted the player in the summer transfer window.
The move could now be back on the cards as the Italian giants have offered an initial loan with the option to buy.
That seems to be a key sticking point in the move, especially because West Ham United will exercise their obligation to sign the centre-back permanently in the summer. It suggests that Juve will have to offer an obligation to buy in their move.
Despite all the claims, it has to be said the Italian media were insistent Todibo didn’t want a West Ham move in the summer, and that Nice would therefore be forced to give Juventus a discount.
Clearly, they were wrong on that and may be reporting what they want rather than the actual case again. One to keep an eye on.
