Swansea City and Sunderland AFC are monitoring Aston Villa’s Morgan Sanson, according to a report from France.
The midfielder arrived at Villa Park from Marseille in January 2021 and his situation has been made difficult due to lack of game time.
Steven Gerrard has not handed him any minutes this season. The manager left the 28-year-old out of the squad for six matches and then left him on the bench for the last four league games.
According to Jeunes Footeux, the Frenchman is in ‘very great difficulty’ and his situation can no longer continue at Aston Villa. Therefore, he ‘wishes to leave’ the Premier League side in January.
Despite not featuring for the Villans, the player manages to draw attention from the Ligue 1 and the Championship. Swansea and Sunderland get a mention for the latter.
Lille and Strasbourg are very attentive of his situation at Villa. It’s said that Strasbourg are even working to take Gerrard’s man on loan in January, and they are also willing to pay part of his salary.
In addition to these two sides, Swansea and Sunderland are ‘interested’ in Sanson. The Welsh club and the Black Cats are also looking at the possibility to sign him on a loan deal in the winter market.
