Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow is in talks with Southampton to join them before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who report that the goalkeeper will be leaving the Dutch side and looks set to become Southampton’s new number one.
The newspaper reports that the 26-year-old is keen to move on this summer after finding himself placed on the bench by new manager Brian Priske.
They already rejected an offer from Atletico Madrid earlier this summer, considering their offer of ‘a few million’ as ‘scandalous’.
They are more than happy to sell and understand Bijlow’s need to leave given he’s lost his starting role for them and with the Netherlands.
It is expected that, because of that, they will reach an agreement with Southampton quickly over their asking price.
The goalkeeper is being seen as an ideal fit for Russel Martin, who wants a stopper who can play out from the back and is strong in build-up play… and sees Bijlow as a man who can do that.
