Wolverhampton Wanderers signed Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht on a season-long loan deal and his transfer to the Molineux Stadium will be made permanent next summer.

So far, the Belgium international has been restricted to only two appearances, while his manager Nuno Espírito Santo has not picked the 23-year-old in the Premier League.

Wolves suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cardiff City in the league on Friday and the former Jupiler Pro League star was not included in the match day squad.

According to Voetbalnieuws.be, the utility player is in a ‘hopeless situation’ with his current employer and after being dropped from the squad in the last tie, Dendoncker has now taken a step backwards in his career.

It looks like a move away from Wolves in January is now viewed as the ‘only option’ for him.

He can play in the back four and in the centre of the pitch and despite his versatility, Dendoncker has struggled to make his way into the English club’s starting XI, or even as a regular sub.
