Florentino Luis has been strongly linked to both Everton and Nottingham Forest in recent weeks, with Benfica thought to be considering a sale if they get the right price.
In the January window, there were even claims of a €30m offer from Everton, but that seemed a little hard to believe given the club’s finances. A loan with an option to buy at that price may have been the reality.
Nottingham Forest were more recently pulled into the picture and it was all presented as a battle between them and the Toffees.
Monday’s edition of Record reports both clubs are still in the picture to sign the midfielder. No others sides are named.
Benfica will sell for a ‘convincing proposal’. There’s been hints they want that €30m figure, but it would certainly be worth going in at something lower first.
Meanwhile, Florentino Luis is enjoying his holidays. Record say that yesterday he was in Paris to attend the Roland Garros final between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.
