On Wednesday, Celtic sealed a 1-0 win over Young Boys in the Champions League and it was Kyogo Furuhashi’s last appearance for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
That’s according to Le Parisien, who state Celtic have reached an agreement with Stade Rennais for the striker’s transfer.
The Ligue 1 side have been chasing the 30-year-old for several weeks and now agreed a €12m deal with Celtic.
Foot Mercato also report the French club and Celtic having come to an agreement for the Japan international’s transfer. They state the fee is over €10m and this is likely excluding bonuses.
The frontman has starred for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, managing 12 goals and four assists from 32 games.
These claims about the deal that’s in place between Celtic and Stade Rennais is backed up Ouest-France, who then provide an additional update.
The two clubs also talked about Stade Rennais’ Jota, who was at Celtic between 2021 and 2023. The report adds the negotiations have been ‘constructive’, especially because of the winger.
The 25-year-old Portuguese joined the Ligue 1 side last summer and Ouest-France’s title says he ‘heads to Glasgow Celtic’. Within the report, it’s claimed the winger is ‘close’ to returning to Celtic Park in the winter market.
Ouest-France make it clear these deals are treated as two separate operations.
