Sporting left-back Marvin Zeegelaar is reportedly ready to move to England, with Norwich City his claimed destination. The player, who has been left out of most of the Portuguese club’s games recently, apparently just needs to say ‘yes’ to make the transfer happen.
Even though three Portuguese newspapers confirm his exit, the destination is still a bit unclear. A Bola considers that a move to Norwich City is certain, but other papers such as Record and O Jogo claim that Crystal Palace have a chance on the deal too.
According to A Bola, Zeegelaar is leaving Sporting for an amount of €3.5m which could raise to €5m with bonuses, something that Record seem to agree to.
Both O Jogo and Record claim that this is the amount offered by both Norwich City and Crystal Palace, and as Sporting are satisfied with it, Zeegelaar only needs to choose one.
But A Bola says that he agreed to join Norwich after a meeting yesterday, and that’s why he didn’t take part in training.
The player signed for Sporting for €500k in January 2016, but only managed to make 29 appearances so far. He was even called up to the Dutch national squad in November last year, although he didn’t enter the pitch in any of the games.
If Zeegelaar does have a Norwich agreement then Crystal Palace would have to swoop in and snatch the player away.
