Nikola Vlasic has not yet ‘revved up the engine’ for Torino, with the club and fans growing frustrated after the effort made to sign him permanently from West Ham United this summer.

That’s according to Toro.it, who say the Croatian hasn’t started the season well and that is leading to question of ‘where is the real Vlasic?’

They explain that despite being the most expensive purchase for Torino this summer, with them paying €12.8m to sign him permanently from West Ham, Vlasic has not yet shown his qualities on the pitch.

With the Italian side enduring a mixed start to the season the focus is very much on the Croatian midfielder, who ‘has seemed dull’ in each of the three matches played so far and does not seem up to speed.

Indeed, he has appeared rather isolated and ‘lacking in opportunities’ and questions are being raised regarding what has happened to a player who was so important last season.

There could be many reasons for the drop off, from starting to pre-season late as negotiations with West Ham dragged on to some tactical changes made by manager Ivan Juric, but the fact is Torino’s fans are expecting more.
