Despite what Graham Potter said in his last press conference about the future of Denis Zakaria at Chelsea, it’s clear the trust isn’t really there.
The Switzerland international arrived when Thomas Tuchel was still in charge, and has yet to make his debut for the Blues, who loaned him from Juventus for the season with an option to buy.
At this point in time, there is close to no chance of Chelsea triggering that, since Potter doesn’t seem overly thrilled with the midfielder, and talk of him returning to Italy, whether in January or in the summer, is starting to grow.
Gazzetta dello Sport have an article on it on Wednesday, explaining the player just ‘hasn’t convinced Chelsea at all’.
This continues the idea that he could return to Juventus, where the newspaper state that the Blues have an interest in Adrien Rabiot, whose contract in Turin expires at the end of the season.
That’s why, with that in mind, there is the possibility of a one in, one out scenario, which could also open the door to Juventus making a move for Sergej Milinković-Savić.
Rabiot is described as ‘among the possible goals of Chelsea’, and ‘everyone could benefit’ from this scenario going through.
Something to think about going forward, but it’s clear that this is something to keep an eye on, with it all also depending on whether Juventus end up in Champions League spaces at the end of the campaign.
