As covered by Sport Witness on Tuesday, Spanish outlet Deporte Valenciano published a story making heavy criticism of Andreas Pereira’s start at Valencia, since the Manchester United loanee has failed impress in his first appearances for the club.
The 21-year-old has been struggling to earn a place in the starting team, and after a poor performance against Club Athletic Bilbao last weekend, there was some sense in what the website had written.
But opinions may diverge, and today, local outlet El Desmarque covers Pereira’s new interview saying he reveals ‘the secrets for his good start” at the club.
To celebrate the World Animal Day, the player was interviewed by the club’s official channel in a zoo, and talked about how good he’s been feeling in the city.
“I am very comfortable at Valencia CF. I feel good. I like the city and the adaptation is going well. Everyone has received me very well. Valencia is a great family and I feel like I have been here for many years.”
Pereira also claimed the the control made by manager Marcelino over what the players eat is one of the reasons why the club has been doing well this season.
“He controls our diet a lot, what you can eat and what you can’t, but it’s okay because you can see on the pitch that we run a lot. It’s for our good, you understand it and we’re going to try to do our best.”
Originally loaned to the La Liga side for an entire season, Pereira can actually be called back during the January window, as long as Manchester United pay Valencia compensation for it.
