New Galatasaray signing Florin Andone has spoken to the club’s television after his loan move from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Yesterday, the Turkish club have confirmed that they have loaned the Romanian striker for €700K, as the 25-year-old will earn a wage of around €2.5m over the course of the campaign.
Speaking after his move, Andone said, via Fotomac, expressed a great pleasure at swapping the Amex Stadium for Galatasaray: ”I am very happy at the moment. Galatasaray wanted me before when I was at Deportivo La Coruna. The transfer happened very quickly. So this is a new page for me. I hope that I will be able to prove myself.”
Andone also said he spoke with his former teammate at Deportivo, Emre Colak, about the move and impressed what he has heard: ”He told me everything about the club, city and the fans… I am very impressed with what I’ve heard. I am eager to play and meet my teammates. Hopefully everything will be fine.”
One of the main issues for the striker going forward, however, will be the competition for a starting spot with Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian forward swapped Monaco for Galatasaray towards the end of the transfer window, and if it comes down to a decision between the former Chelsea man and a Brighton loanee, we all know who the manager will pick.
That means it’s up to Florin Andone to prove everyone wrong and show he can go toe to toe with a player who was once widely seen as the best striker in the world.
