Over the last few transfer windows, Matteo Darmian has been linked with Italian clubs, especially Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli.
There seems to be no exception in the ongoing window as reports have talked about the Old Lady and the Nerazzurri’s interest in the Manchester United defender.
Calciomercato now claims the 29-year-old’s name has once again been discussed at San Siro as Antonio Conte’s side have made ‘contact’ with his agent, Tullio Tinti.
Tinti visited Inter’s headquarters on Thursday and the former Torino man’s profile emerged as a possible target for the Serie A side.
Darmian can play either side of the back four or can be used as a centre-back in a three man defence.
The right fullback position at Old Trafford remains covered and with the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, it has further increased competition.
Darmian has one year left on his contract and is ‘happy’ to leave United and return to Italy. In addition to this, the economic conditions seems much more ‘favourable’ for Inter this summer.
Inter also have several options in their defence and for them to sign Darmian, they will have to make room for him by offloading one or two players.
Thus, outgoings will depend on whether or not Inter will sign Darmian.
