According to a claim in the Dutch media, NEC forward Jay-Roy Grot has been granted permission to travel to England to hold transfer talks with Leeds United.
The 19 year old has been linked with a move to the Championship side in recent days.
Forzanec.nl report Grot’s move to Leeds United is getting closer, after it was confirmed earlier in the week an offer has been made by the English side.
With Leeds United in the hunt for a centre forward, following Chris Wood’s move to Burnley, Grot is the lasted to be linked with the club.
There are suggestions Grot could even be available for Leeds United’s clash with Nottingham Forest this weekend if an agreement can be made with the Dutch side and the player.
Talks have been progressing ‘very constructively’ between NEC and Leeds United, according to the Dutch claims.
Several other clubs are also reported to be interested in Grot, but it seems Leeds United are in pole position at the moment to land the youngster.
Grot has just 12 months left on his NEC contract, and they could look to cash in on the young forward, or risk losing him a free next summer.
