Crysencio Summerville signed for Leeds United from Feyenoord in September 2020, having represented the Netherlands national side throughout the youth levels.
He’s yet to get his first full cap, but there’s now talk in the Dutch media that Ronald Koeman, the country’s latest manager, should be keeping a close eye on the Leeds player.
So far this season, the attacker has made 21 appearances for the Premier League club, scoring five goals and adding five assists.
The 21-year-old has played in a variety of positions for Leeds this season and at such a young age (he won’t turn 22 until October) his progress has been at least reasonable.
He’ll want to push on and become a regular starter under Javi Gracia, and that will obviously help his claims to wear the Oranje shirt.
Dutch pundit Willem van Hanegem believes the national team should already be taking a close look at him.
Writing for his column in Monday’s edition of AD, Van Hanegem said the current squad named by Koeman is reasonable, but he picked out two possible inclusions in the near future.
One was Jerdy Schouten, who plays for Bologna, and the other was Summerville.
The pundit says the latter has ‘got so much better’ at Leeds United, and he praised his ‘speed, agility and ability to play a man’.
