Palmeiras are monitoring Nottingham Forest’s Danilo for the summer window, according to Bolavip Brasil.
The midfielder spent five years at the Brazilian club before joining Nottingham Forest in January 2023.
Danilo was a regular for the Reds until he suffered an ankle injury in August that kept him on the sidelines until January. Since regaining full fitness, Nuno Espírito Santo hasn’t used him regularly.
To put it in context, he’s been limited to 99 minutes from three games since the start of March.
Danilo is going through a ‘bad phase’ at Nottingham Forest as he’s been overlooked by the coaching staff.
Palmeiras are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old as an option to replace Richard Ríos, if the Colombian were to move elsewhere in the upcoming window.
If he wants to return to Brazil, the report states Palmeiras president Leila Pereira is willing to bring him back. Pereira and manager Abel Ferreira wanted to prevent Danilo’s move to Nottingham Forest in the first place.
The player is still popular at Palmeiras and Bolavip state he’s ‘looking forward to return’ to his country. The president will continue to monitor his situation in the coming weeks.
If Nuno Espírito Santo continues to leave him out and Rios is sold, the South American club could consider making an offer. The Reds’ demand or the fee they are willing to offer isn’t mentioned in the report.
