Poland’s exit from the Euros last night could accelerate a decision on the future of Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
The 22-year-old has been strongly linked to Liverpool in the past few months, but reports have suggested the Premier League side are reluctant to meet the asking price of Udinese.
Napoli are also interested in signing the midfielder, and have already agreed a fee of €14m with Udinese.
Zielinski, however, has already given his word to Liverpool, and is now waiting for the Reds to come back and complete the transfer, reports Tutto Mercato Web.
It’s not clear if Liverpool are waiting for Udinese to lower their asking price or are trying to strike a deal for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Mahmoud Dahoud or another player instead, keeping Zielinski hanging as a back-up option.
In any case, Liverpool should act quickly, as TMW reckon Napoli are set to step up their interest in Zielinski, and could make another attempt to sign him in the next few days.
