Thierry Ambrose failed to break into Manchester City’s first team and therefore, has been loaned out twice.
He joined NAC Breda on a temporary spell last season, where he scored 10 goals and registered five assists, but that was not sufficient for him to make it into Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad this season.
The Premier League winners loaned him to RC Lens and the forward has already scored four goals and made three assists in 11 league appearances. The 21-year-old was interviewed by France Football and asked who advised him to join the Ligue 2 side.
“I was pleased to say that it was a good opportunity. And I do not regret at all.”
Ambrose’s contract at the Etihad runs down in 2020 and his wish is to break into the English champions’ first team. The Frenchman is aware it will not be easy for his dream to be a reality and should he fail to do so, the player is ready to leave City.
“Yes of course. City is always in my head. But as I’ve always said, if it’s not in Manchester City, it will be elsewhere. I still belong to this club, so we’ll see …” the attacker added.
“It’s already my second loan and I do not want to know five clubs and always be on loan.”
