Earlier on Thursday, we covered the latest in the Nahitan Nández to Tottenham saga.

It’s been a short one so far, but rather intense, as Spurs seem intent on securing the Uruguayan’s services sooner rather than later on a loan deal.

Gazzetta dello Sport stated it could just be a paid loan worth around €5m, and that’s the line Calciomercato.it are going with as well.

The news comes from their journalist, Alessio Lento, who explains the player is ‘getting closer to Paratici’s Tottenham in great strides’, as the Premier League club are ‘negotiating with Cagliari for a loan (€5-6m) with a conditional obligation to buy (around €20m)’.

So, it appears the Serie A side would rather get rid of the wantaway Nández this year, and the idea of a mandatory purchase clause based on certain goals (likely amount of appearances) is in the works that could take the deal from €5-6m to €25-26m.

There’s also Centrotrentuno, who explain that Tottenham remain ‘in the front row’ for the midfielder, who ‘would like the destination’.

They believe Spurs have yet to make the ‘move of concreteness’, although the talks mentioned by Lento now suggest that’s been done.
