Gedson Fernandes’ transfer to Galatasaray is pretty much done, according to the latest claims from the Turkish media.

Outlet Sabah is the one bringing the ‘last minute’ news now reporting the player has landed in Istanbul to sign a one-and-a-half-year deal following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur.

The report says Fernandes should be officially announced by Galatasaray ‘in a short time’, after all the deadline day drama he’s been in.

Following a positive Covid-19 test, the player had to travel to Turkey on an ‘ambulance aeroplane’, arranged by the country’s health ministry following a request from the club.

The midfielder shall now enter quarantine until he’s able to be properly presented and join his teammates in training.

Gedson Fernandes, who belongs to Benfica, was supposed to stay at Tottenham until the summer at least. However, things didn’t go as planned for him in London, as José Mourinho only gave him two appearances this season.

Spurs even had a buying option of €50m over the player, given how serious the transfer seemed when he made the move. Now there’s a new chance waiting for him in Turkey.
