We’ve been ignoring the majority of Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea stories because it’s much of a muchness.
The deal is closing in, everyone involved expects it to happen, and it will unless something goes wrong in the final straight.
But there’s a claim from QS today which deserves a little look, just because it’s presents everything as imminent. QS is a sport pull-out which goes in major Italian regional newspaper such a La Nazione.
On Friday they state Higuain is expected to fly ‘across the Channel this morning’, making the Juventus owned player sound a little like Superman.
Indeed, it’s explained that Chelsea want to get the deal finalised before noon, because it’s believed that way he can play against Arsenal on Saturday evening. That sounds like a long shot right now, but who knows… maybe Gonzalo is already putting on his cape to start the flight.
Aside from that, it’s explained AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso is having a really poor few days, and will hope that’s all made better by the signing of Krzysztof Piątek from Genoa.
Look to the skies Chelsea fans, see if you can see your new hero flying in.
