This morning, Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo brought a story saying Barcelona fullback Nelson Semedo was ‘close to the exit’, with Wolverhampton Wanderers ‘intensifying negotiations’ for the player.

Now it seems things have developed in the past few hours, because in an update on their website, they say the move could be concluded tonight.

Mundo Deportivo are now pretty sure that the transfer is happening, saying the clubs agreed a fee with a fixed amount of between €32m and €35m. Depending on bonuses, the price could rise to €40m.

It’s claimed that if there aren’t any complications, then Semedo could be flying to England tonight, so he can finally have his medical and sign a contract with Wolves. There aren’t any details on his personal terms with the Premier League side for now.

According to the report, the transfer could be made official ‘between Monday night and Tuesday morning’, so it really seems like a matter of time until we see an official announcement from the Molineux side.
