Agustin Davila, who plays for Uruguayan side Atletico Penarol, has been offered a trial by Liverpool, according to Twitter account Juveniles Penarol, covered by Scouts Attending.

It’s been reported the 17-year-old is expected to leave Montevideo airport at 1:30 PM today for Merseyside. The Uruguayan forward also confirmed it on Twitter by thanking Juveniles Penarol.

There are no direct Uruguay to Liverpool flights, so Davila will be making a two-leg journey.

There is not much information on the internet about Davila, but according to the website Global Management Group, who represent several players in Uruguay, the 17-year-old is a quick versatile forward.

Davila can play through the middle, and on the wings, and has been a prolific goal scorer. The right footed forward has 15 days to impress Liverpool’s academy director, Alex Inglethorpe.

Liverpool have a number of talents coming through their academy, and a clearly looking to add to that. A work permit could be an issue for Davila, but it would be expected that Liverpool have looked into that before inviting the youngster over, and he may well have an EU passport.

Global Business Group have also added a video of Davila in action to their website.
