Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo are now very sure that Aston Villa are not keeping Clement Lenglet at the club.

A fresh story claims that the Premier League club consider their professional relationship with the player ‘finished’, as they won’t try to extend the loan or buy him from Barcelona.

The agreement between Aston Villa and Barça didn’t include a buying option, and there’s no intention to negotiate.

It now remains to be seen whether Hansi Flick, who’ll take charge of the Camp Nou side, will want the player there. If not, he’ll need to find a new destination.

Lenglet first had a loan at Tottenham Hotspur, and ended up being sent to Aston Villa last summer. Featuring for Unai Emery’s side this season, he’s made 25 appearances.

It never seemed like the Villans would try to make a big investment to keep him at the club for longer, but considering Mundo Deportivo’s words, his stay in England won’t even become a rumour this summer, with the Premier League side moving away quickly.
