Following a trial period in 2017, Leeds United offered a permanent contract to Kamil Miazek at the beginning of 2018.
The goalkeeper had previously been with Chojniczanka Chojnice in Poland’s second division so it was a big leap and a chance at the big time, with the Whites then contracting the player until 2020.
Unfortunately he was unable to make the breakthrough with the Elland Road club and the best he managed was being on Leeds United’s bench for a number of Championship matches.
Released over the summer, Miazek has found it tricky locating a new club, but now things may be looking up for the 24-year-old.
Voetbal International report Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen are giving the stopper a chance to earn a contract with them, and he’s currently training at their base having had to go through a period of quarantine following arrival from Poland.
Gerry Hamstra, the Dutch club’s technical manager, is quoted as saying: “It has been our wish to attract a second goalkeeper for some time. This trial period is a good way to see if we like the collaboration with Kamil.”
Hamstra also said they’d followed Miazek earlier in his career, when he spent time with Feyenoord, and then the footballer ‘went off the radar’ at Chojniczanka Chojnice and Leeds United.
