According to a claim in the Swedish media, Watford are in final talks to sign IFK Goteborg goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg, but German side RB Leipzig are also still in the race to sign the youngster.
Dahlberg has been strongly linked with a move to Vicarage Road in recent weeks, with claims he could join the English side in January.
Fotbol Direkt have reported on the latest developments over the future of Dahlberg, and they state he will almost certainly leave IFK in January.
The Swedish side could be forced to sell the 18 year old due to financial reasons, but the question now is which club he’ll sign for.
It’s been revealed it’s currently 50/50 if he signs for Watford or RB Leipzig, and in the coming weeks it’ll become more apparent which club he joins.
Dalberg’s transfer fee of £3m+ isn’t an issue for both Watford and Leipzig, which could mean the player makes the final decision on whether he heads to the Premier League or Bundesliga.
