A Bola and Record may not be able to agree on what Raul Jimenez will cost Wolves, either for the loan deal or permanent option, but they do agree it’s very likely happening.
Earlier on Saturday we covered claims from A Bola that Wolves will be paying Benfica €3m to loan Jimenez for a season and have a buying clause of €38m, making the deal worth a potential €41m.
Record say Wolves will pay €5m for the loan and have a buying clause of €35m, making the deal worth a potential €40m.
It’s explained that Jorge Mendes has negotiated the deal, of course he has, and Wolves will be responsible for paying Jimenez’s salary, which is put at ‘over €1m per season’.
And there’s more disagreement. Whilst A Bola reported the deal is expected to be announced at the beginning of next week, Record reckon it will be after the World Cup.
Jimenez is said to be in Denmark, preparing with Mexico for the World Cup.
He’s presented as being well up for the move, with one of his ‘career goals’ to play in the Premier League. The player’s father is also presented as keen and they’ve both been following the negotiations closely.
