On Friday, we covered claims from Belgium which explained OGC Nice’s efforts to agree a deal to sign Burnley’s Mike Trésor.
It was also stated the Ligue 1 side have agreed terms with the Clarets for a loan deal with an option to buy. They were trying to find an agreement with the 25-year-old.
The transfer didn’t take shape, and the winger will continue at Turf Moor, at least until the end of this year.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to explain why Nice failed to secure Trésor’s services.
Despite earlier claims stating that the two clubs have agreed terms, Tavolieri now states Nice ‘couldn’t find a solution’ over the loan fee. He adds there was a ‘lack of time’ for the parties to find the final agreement.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna took to X to back up Sacha Tavolieri’s claim. He also explains there was ‘lack of time’ for Nice to sign the attacker in the last window.
Aouna adds the Belgium international ‘would like to sign’ for the Ligue 1 side in January.
A year ago, Trésor joined Burnley from KRC Genk. He managed a goal and an assist from 28 games in his debut season at Turf Moor.
