Kevin Mirallas is slowly easing into his stint with Fiorentina.
Arriving in the summer from Everton on loan, the Belgian doesn’t see it as a temporary exit from Goodison Park, but rather a brilliant opportunity for a permanent transfer and a new, settled, period for his family.
There are of course not many better places to take the family to live than Tuscany, and Mirallas is loving his Florentine lifestyle.
Speaking to local newspaper La Nazione, the attacker was asked if he sees himself returning to England or staying in Italy: “My biggest goal is to stay in purple, to convince the management to redeem my contract because I would like to continue my journey for a long time, I think only to be a protagonist this season to show that I’m up to the task.
“It is an absolutely perfect club for me, I like the city, beautiful and welcoming, with me and with my family, here everything is “super” and I am ready to show that I am in the right place: I do not live this experience as a moment of passage, for me it is an extraordinary goal (to stay.)”
La Nazione put it to the Everton owned player that he already seems ‘very Florentine’, to which he said: “It’s nice, no? And here, with me, there’s my wife Christelle and my two children: Juan, who is already at school, and little Julia.”
Asked if he moved to Fiorentina by chance, or whether it was a decision made by the family, Mirallas said: “The family is something very important for me, it’s what comes before everything. Before I said yes to Fiorentina, I also had some foreign offers, in destinations… let’s say exotic, but I said no, thankfully, just because I wanted the choice to be made with my family. I could not have chosen a destination not appreciated by them, but in Florence and in Fiorentina we found the ideal solution.”
Mirallas will likely to have to improve on what he’s already shown if he wants Fiorentina to sign him permanently from Everton.
