You might remember a few weeks ago, Rangers fans, when it was being reported your club were in talks for Amiens’ Bongani Zungu.
There was a belief the South Africa international was heading to Ibrox in a deal said to be around €4m, but it never happened due to the fact the player was seen as ‘overweight’ during his medical.
He was then left out of the Ligue 2 side’s squad for the first four games of the season before reappearing from the bench later on and starting on Saturday against Caen.
It appears Rangers and Steven Gerrard are now pleased with the player’s fitness, as Courrier Picard are reporting late on Monday afternoon that the player could ‘renew his contract’ with Amiens before being ‘loaned out’ to the Scottish club.
We’ll have to wait and see regarding the details and if there is a view to buy in the deal, but it seems a new arrival is to be expected at Ibrox before 11pm on Monday night.
This has also been backed up by RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi.
