Gianluca Scamacca is expected in London ‘in the coming days’ to finalise his move to West Ham United.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who, alongside Gazzetta Dello Sport, cover the striker’s impending move to the London Stadium today.
The newspaper reports that West Ham have been able to ‘close the deal’ for the striker after meetings in recent weeks, moving ahead of PSG to secure his signature.
The deal was facilitated by ‘good relations’ between the Hammers and the player’s entourage, and a deal has now been struck.
Gazzetta back this up, stating Scamacca is ‘just a step away’ from completing the move and is working on the final details with Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali and his agent Alessandro Lucci.
They have had a ‘collective handshake’ with West Ham to make the move on what will be a five-year deal for the player. Corriere say he will earn €3m a year at the London Stadium.
In terms of figures, Corriere say it will be a €36m deal plus €6m in bonuses, plus 10% from any potential future sale.
Gazzetta say the same but report that the future sale percentage is yet to be agreed. Either way, the move will ‘be made official soon’.
According to their information, West Ham ‘became strong’ for Scamacca last week, taking advantage of PSG’s dawdling to make their move for him.
The last two weeks had been filled with meetings, messages, video calls and videoconferences, proposals, relaunches, ideas and details, which resulted in an agreement being struck.
David Moyes has promised Scamacca a starring role in his forward line, and it is that which has led to them getting the striker ahead of their Parisian counterparts.
