In the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur cut short Djed Spence’s loan stay at Leeds United and allowed him to join Genoa on a temporary deal with an option to buy.
The right-back has made nine appearances for the Serie A side and told Tuttosport last month that he’s been enjoying life in Italy.
According to La Voce Rossoblu, the Tottenham man is keen on making his stay permanent at the Italian club.
Genoa sporting director Marco Ottolini wanted the 23-year-old badly in the winter market and his decision to bet on the fullback has paid off so far.
The director recently spoke to the English media and revealed that his side are in contact with the north London club over a potential deal for the defender in the summer.
Spence’s contract at Spurs lasts until 2027, but he hopes to continue at the Serie A side beyond this season. In fact, the report says the Englishman ‘would be enthusiastic’ about leaving Tottenham permanently for Genoa.
La Voce Rossoblu say the Tottenham owned player has done ‘very well’ in 2024 and hopes that Genoa will make his stay permanent in the summer window.
