On Monday Spanish newspaper Marca published an article naming Swansea City as interested in Nico Gaitan and explaining the player simply doesn’t fancy the move.

Tuesday’s edition of AS, another Spanish sport newspaper, also mentions Swansea interest in the Atletico Madrid player, along with several other Premier League clubs, and explains he’s against a move to the PL because he doesn’t speak English.

But AS make it very clear time is running out for Gaitan and he’s going to have to consider options he was previously not too keen on.

With Gaitan’s preferred destinations either not showing enough interest or enough money, it sounds very much like Atletico Madrid wish he’d just pick one of the clubs who can spend and who are keen on signing him this month.

It’s clearly a nudge for Gaitan to again consider Swansea and the other Premier League clubs mentioned, or else he could find himself in Russia or similar.

Atletico Madrid seem keen on the player leaving, and their frustration over him being picky seems to have leaked out to their local media.

Does Carlos Carvalhal really want a player who doesn’t fancy Swansea? Maybe not, but, just like Gaitan, Swansea will have to be less and less picky the closer to deadline we get.
