Last month, we covered claims from Germany which stated Liverpool are very interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong.
It was also said the Bundesliga side are worried Liverpool could activate the right-back’s €40m clause.
Frimpong is currently with the Netherlands at Euro 2024, and they face England in the semi-final later today.
He’s made three appearances in the Euros so far and Bild say the 23-year-old could have another chance to impress his interested parties, including Liverpool, against the Three Lions.
The report says his clause expires the ‘week after the European championship final’, meaning next week as the Euros final will take place on Sunday.
If Liverpool wish to sign the Netherlands international for a reasonable price of €40m, they will have to activate his clause in the coming days.
After the deadline, the interested clubs have to negotiate a deal with Bayer Leverkusen, who are likely to request a fee higher than €40m.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been the first-choice right-back at Liverpool over the years. Frimpong will have a tough task to get ahead of the Englishman, if he were to join the Reds.
