Charles De Ketelaere ‘doesn’t want to go to Leeds’ and would rather join AC Milan this summer.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says the Whites look likely to miss out on the highly-rated forward.

Leeds had been brought into the mix for De Ketelaere over the last few weeks as they continue to spend and reshape Jesse Marsch’s squad this summer.

They’re battling AC Milan for his signature and a report earlier today stated the Italian side would not be able to match the €30m offer that had arrived from Elland Road.

The suggestion was that Leeds had the spending power at their disposal to beat the competition to De Ketelaere, although it has regularly been made clear they would have to convince the player into the move.

De Ketelaere has his sights set slightly higher by all accounts, and Tavolieri backs that idea up with his latest comments on the transfer situation.

“Now De Ketelaere’s choice is clear: he wants to go to Milan,” he told Calciomercato.it.

“De Ketelaere doesn’t want to go to Leeds; he wants to play the Champions League with Milan.

“We can say that €25m, bonuses, a percentage on resale, the player’s pressing, and De Ketelaere goes to Milan.

“De Ketelaere no longer wants to play on the right or left; he wants to be in the centre of the game.”
