However, no deal took shape and the centre-back continued with the north London club.
The Argentina international hasn’t featured in 2020 and has made only three appearances under José Mourinho.

This gives an opportunity for Sampdoria to make another attempt to sign the defender. The Italian club remain ‘at the window’, despite knowing there are other suitors for him.
Foyth’s representative has told the British media his client could leave Tottenham in the upcoming window, and Sampdoria are hoping to take advantage of his desire to change clubs.
In order to complete the deal, Claudio Ranieri’s side must ‘find a system’ to convince Foyth so that he picks the Serie A side over other clubs.
Time will tell whether or not Sampdoria will be successful in signing the Tottenham defender.
