Italian outlet Calciomercato today writes about the Roma players who have had their future already decided by manager José Mourinho.
When speaking of Jordan Veretout, the report claims the midfielder is ‘destined to leave’ the Serie A side the summer, and Newcastle United show up as a potential destination.
According to the website, the 29-year-old has ‘several’ requests from the Premier League, and one of them is from the Magpies.
There should be, however, competition from Italian sides as well, since the story claims the player has been proposed to Milan too.
Calciomercato claim Roma want to make around €20m with the player’s sale, but, for now, there’s no information on how much Newcastle or the other interested clubs are willing to pay for the transfer.
With José Mourinho now deciding he’s not counting on Veretout for the next season, that could perhaps be an argument that Newcastle can use to try and get to a fair deal out of any talks with the Serie A side.
