Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has lost prominence after Ange Postecoglou took charge at the north London club in the summer.
The midfielder has been restricted to only three league starts this season and it includes only one start since the last month’s international break.
Various claims from Italy have stated Juventus are interested in the Tottenham player and La Stampa now provides the latest on this case.
Taking into current situation at Spurs into account, the report states the 28-year-old has now ‘become a bargain’, also because he has a ‘desire to leave’ the Premier League side in the winter market.
La Stampa say the Denmark international would be cheap since his deal lasts until 2025 and there’s been no talks of renewal so far. Therefore, they suggest Tottenham’s request should be ‘moderate’.
However, ‘in reality’ Spurs aren’t willing to offer discount nor are they willing to allow the former Southampton man leave on loan with an obligation to buy. This would certainly not please the Turin club, who have identified him as one of the targets to bolster the midfield in January.
There’s another factor that makes it difficult for the Old Lady to secure his services. Last month, Rodrigo Bentancur suffered an injury setback, meaning this could push Postecoglou ‘to veto the transfer’ of Højbjerg in January.
