Maxi Gomez’s situation has been pretty quiet in Spain over the past week or so.

At one point it was thought he was on the verge of moving to Valencia, but an agreement on price couldn’t be reached and Los Che have been looking at other options for a striker.

It was a move which appealed to the Uruguayan and El Desmarque again make it clear he’s insisting on going precisely where he wants, rather than being pushed to who will pay Celta Vigo the most money.

This is why West Ham are being held off right now, that and they can’t agree a fee with Celta either. Gomez wants to fight for titles and to play in the Champions League and wouldn’t get that at the Hammers.

El Desmarque claim Gomez has been made aware of Tottenham rumours, which are supposedly going around England.

A move to Mauricio Pochettino’s side would provide what he wants, with Spurs in the Champions League final last season, so he’s waiting to find out how serious Tottenham interest could be.

That’s the claim, although it sounds a little questionable, unless he’s happy to be Harry Kane’s understudy.

Even if Spurs claims are nonsense, it’s still pointed out Gomez would wait for a ‘higher level’ team than West Ham.
