The news regarding the future of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane now seems to be coming from everywhere, with the French, the English and the Spanish media all saying he’s in talks to join Manchester United.
The latest report comes from journalist Jorge Calabres, director of Bernabeu Digital, who on El Bunker CF channel, claims the player is ‘closer than ever’ to joining the Red Devils.
He claims that Varane has ‘decided’ to sign for the Premier League side, both for the good offer they’ve made to him as for the goals he has for his career.
It’s said that Manchester United have put on the table a salary of €12m net per season, and that’s a lot more than the €8m that Real Madrid have been offering.
Now a bid from the Red Devils is expected to be made in the coming days.
Calabres claims that Real Madrid will not accept any offers below €50m, as they expect to make between €50m and €60m with the sale.
The Spanish club consider Varane to be an important player, and that’s the reason why they won’t gift him for a low price.
In case Manchester United bid less than that, then the Galacticos would rather hold the player, even with the risk of losing him for free next year, and would try to convince him to sign a new contract during the season.
Now if the Old Trafford side do make a convincing offer, Calabres says it’s possible that Varane becomes a Red Devil ‘in the coming days’. He claims this is a ‘decisive week’ for a potential deal.
