Jurgen Klopp is ‘a step away’ from his first big summer signing, report Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday. The Italian newspaper are taking a look at possible exits from AS Roma this summer and Mohamed Salah is one of them.

Liverpool reports got carried away so much last week that things were claimed that simply weren’t happening. There was talk of a medical being penned in for last Friday, and claims that everything was agreed.

On June 1st Sport Witness was informed that simply wasn’t the case and Liverpool didn’t have an agreement with Roma or the player.

A move is possible, but that step away which Gazzetta mentions is the price, with the Italian newspaper again pointing out that Roma are looking for €40m for the former Chelsea player.

It’s a rather important step.

Liverpool were very strongly linked before Salah signed for Chelsea, and missed out that time around. If this time it’s simply down to pleasing Roma, then Liverpool and Klopp know what needs to be done.
