Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst is ‘currently in Burnley’ to hold negotiations with the club over a move before deadline day.
That’s according to Transfermarkt.de, who say the possibility of a move is ‘becoming more concrete’.
Weghorst has emerged as a target for Burnley over the last few days, with reports in England and Germany indicating that Sean Dyche’s side are targeting him as a replacement for Chris Wood.
He was sold to Newcastle earlier this month, leaving Burnley without their top goalscorer and a big hole to fill.
Weghorst is seemingly the man they think can do it and a report yesterday even stated that Wolfsburg were ‘more than prepared’ to do a deal.
Earlier today, it was reported that he had missed training after the interest from Burnley had caused issues behind the scenes, and Transfermarkt provide the latest slant.
According to their information, the deal for Weghorst is ‘becoming more concrete’, and the striker has even travelled to Burnley ‘for negotiations’.
They insist that a ‘final decision’ has not yet been made, but the signs are all pointing towards the striker ending up at Turf Moor before the transfer window closes.
