According to Belgium’s Walfoot, Leander Dendoncker remains keen on a transfer to West Ham before the window shuts tonight.
The player is said to be waiting for the Hammers to ‘make a concrete offer of more than €20m’.
West Ham have been repeatedly linked with the Anderlecht midfielder during the January window, and it’s an open secret Dendoncker is keen on a move to the Premier League sooner rather than later.
The player’s agent tried to build a deal towards the end of the summer window, with Everton most strongly linked then, and it seems the same has happened this time around.
A few days ago it was reported in Belgium that Dendoncker had been offered to Everton, but the Toffees had knocked the approach back.
It was also claimed West Ham were considering the signing, with the club’s board and chief scout keen but David Moyes dithering over the potential move. Moyes has a reputation for having difficulty making his mind up on transfer targets so the situation was left open.
Watford have also been brought into the picture in recent days, and the message from Belgium seems to be that if West Ham, or any other reasonable level Premier League club, can get an offer accepted by Anderlecht today, then Dendoncker will jump at the chance.
