Much like the Sven Botman situation between Milan and Newcastle, the Serie A side’s tussle for Charles de Ketelaere is being dictated by the money put forward by Leeds United.
Jesse Marsch’s side are said to have made a €37m package offer for the Belgian forward, which is close to what Club Brugge want, and it has set the bar for their demands.
Unfortunately for Milan, who are the player’s favourite option over Leeds, they are struggling to meet that, which isn’t helping the situation.
Calciomercato have an article on the latest on Thursday, explaining that the Jupiler Pro League side rejected the Italian’s second offer, who are already preparing a third.
It still won’t reach what Leeds have put forward, but those in charge know they ‘will have to approach the €37m offered by the English club’.
That’s why they are going to put ‘€30m in fixed base plus €5m in bonuses’ on the table in hope that it will be enough.
Meanwhile, De Ketelaere ‘continues to say no’ to Leeds, and the ‘next few hours will be important’, because if Milan’s offer is accepted, it’s game over for Jesse Marsch and co.
