Earlier on Tuesday, Calciomercato stated Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bolster their midfield in the winter market and Barcelona’s Franck Kessié is identified as one of the targets.
The Ivory Coast international has failed to impress for the La Liga side after having joined them for free last summer. He has been restricted to five league appearances, only two of which have been starts.
Due to the 26-year-old’s situation at the Camp Nou, it is not excluded for him to change clubs in the January window. That’s according to La Repubblica, who explain his agent has offered him to many clubs, including the big Serie A sides.
Tottenham, who have struggled recent league matches [two wins in their last seven games], are also in the mix. In order to turn things around, Antonio Conte ‘wants new players’ in the ongoing window, especially in the middle of the pitch.
It’s claimed the former AC Milan star has been identified as Conte’s ‘favourite’ target and the manager wants him at the north London club.
Kessié earns €8m net per year and is deemed high by Serie A standards, meaning this would give Spurs a financial advantage over Italian clubs to sign the Barca midfielder in January.
